A Nice Day

Home Up

September 17, 2004, Friday: It's been a great day today! The girls woke up at 7:30am and we had breakfast. Then, we started on the butterfly wallpaper strip for their room. After we did the first two pieces, we went outside. I caught up on some laundry while the girls killed the ants near our doorstep with soapwater! Then we came back inside and finished the last three pieces of the wallpaper. Then El helped me choose and place the matching "applique" stickers for the walls. Here are some photos of their room now. (I should've taken "before" shots, darn!). Also, go to the Video Clips page to see a clip of the room:

The blank space under the wallpaper strip will be their artwork area. I'm going to hang a piece of string across the wall and I have these cute baby clips to clip their artwork onto the string. ( I got that idea from "Queer Eye"!) I'm also thinking about getting some "chalkboard paint" to paint a chalkboard square on either the left side of this space or on the opposite wall, next to their bookshelf.

El and her many poses. Maddo is really posing here too.

After we finished up the room decorations, the girls made their own sushi for lunch. We used dried seaweed, crab meat, rice, and fishcake. I also had mayo and tamago, that Japanese omelette, but the girls didn't like it. :

After lunch, the girls colored in their coloring books, Maddo in her Dora the Explorer one, and El in the "God Made Eleanor Lee" book that she made in Bible school.:

They were also watching Blue's Clues on TV at the same time.

By 1:45pm, the girls were sound asleep for their nap. Maddo will probably sleep until 4pm and El until possibly  5:45pm. They have swimming lessons at 6:30pm. After that, we'll probably have a nice dinner at a restaurant, since Mommy's been cooking ALL week!
