| 3 months | Can recognize Mommy out of a crowd of people! We were at Auntie Martha's bridal shower and all these ladies were staring at Mad, then Mommy came to check on her and she looked at Mommy right away and kept her stare focused on her! Mommy was soooo happy :). |

| 4 months | Eats about 6-7 ozs. every 4 hours. When Mommy reads to her, Maddo tries to read along too! Storytime gets kinda noisy. She sleeps about 8.5 hours at night, wakes up at 6am, has her milk, then goes back to sleep for another 2 hours or so. What an easy baby! She can also clasp her hands together. Started eating baby food. May be allergic to rice! Loves to eat. First food was sweet potatoes, then carrots. Can recognize her bottle. |
| 41/2 months | Reached out for the first time (an orange-flavored popsicle in Daddy's hand). Put her pacifier into her mouth by herself! |
| 43/4 months | Turned over from back to tummy! Likes to grab things and look at it. Tries to grab the bottle and hold it herself. Eating green sweet peas, but doesn't like them very much. |
| 5 months | Likes to grab her feet. Eating apples and squash baby food. Seems to prefer sweet potatoes and squash. Kicks happily after she tastes sweet potatoes and squash. Apples are too sour for her. Also likes to suck on El's hot pink fishcake. |
| 6 months | Sat up! Also got her first tooth. Smiles at people other than Mommy. Makes talking sounds like, "Deh deh da da da." |
| 61/2 months | Got her second tooth. Able to wriggle forwards, by using her elbows to pull her whole body! Will wave back at you with one hand, even bend her fingers down a bit if you do it first. |
| 7 months | Sits in a high chair very well. At restaurants, behaves VERY well. Will sit in the high chair and eat her cookie quietly. |
| 9 months | Can drink from a straw. Loves to crawl out of her high chair, even after Mommy had strapped her in already. Can stand up and sit back down with caution! |
| 91/2 months | Can stand without holding on to anything for 1 second! Beginning to cruise. Will clap her hands if you ask her to, in Chinese. Pye-Soh! |

| 1 year | The day after her 1st b-day party, Maddo started taking up to 12 steps all by herself! (Without anyone coaxing her to.) |
| 15 months | Has been saying the word "juice"for a while now, but its always in the form of a question, "juice?" Just started climbing on things like El's stepstool and the couch. She also often remembers to say "thank you" after being given something, but it sounds like, "dak-ku." |
| 16 months | Started calling me "Mama" on July 26, 2003. |
| 17 months | Can say a few phrases like, "Yeh-yeh, where are you?" and "I want Mommy/Daddy/Gong-gong/Yeh-yeh!!!" |

| 19 months | Has taken an interest in going pee-pee and poo-poo in the toilet. Nov, 13, 2003: began to say two-syllable words. Said "water" instead of "wye." Nov. 18, 2003: Went both #1 and 2 in the toilet, and it was her own idea to get on the toilet! |
| 23 months | Can tell you which is her right and which is her left hand. Can count to ten. Speaks in short sentences. Knows colors red, orange, pink, yellow, blue, white and green. I think her favorites are pink and orange. |
| 2 years | Loves playing hide n' seek. Loves swimming classes. Her gym classes are just "ok." Finally off the bottle! Starting to go poo-poo in the toilet now. Still looooves wearing fancy dresses. |

9-13-04: Has been using the toilet for
several months now, but recently doing very well wearing underwear at home.
But today, Mads is starting to feel comfortable using the toilet at school.
Ms. Mervat said she went pee-pee in the toilet twice today and kept her
pull-ups dry! She also insisted on wearing underwear to bed tonight.
Hmmm....will update this later. Mads INSISTS on wearing long sleeved
shirts/dresses all the time, even when its 100 degrees outside. 9-15-04: Just today, Daddy was helping Maddo play computer games and Maddo can use the mouse now! She can control it and click on things. Both girls seem to learn much faster when Daddy teaches them. On one game, the question was, which one begins with the letter "H"? There was a picture of a hamburger and a unicorn. And Maddo says, "H is for Horsey!" 9-16-04: For the first time, Maddo wore underwear to school today! She wore her favorite one, with Cinderella on it! The teacher put her in her lap and told everybody that "Maddie is wearing UNDERWEAR today!!" And everybody clapped for her. It was so cute. |

I don't quite remember when, but it was
probably before she turned 3 that she started using chopsticks. 7-05: Out of the blue, without previous instruction from anyone, Maddie started to write her name! |
| 3 years, 6 months | 10-11-05: Started Ballet/Tap/Jazz class! Loves doing puzzles, around 25 pieces. |

June 2006: Started reading 3 -letter
words. 6-3-06: Started group piano classes. She's comfortable in class and listens to the teacher well. She's usually the one singing the loudest in her class. 6-24&25-06: Mad's first dance recital. |

7-15-06: Read her first book, "Hop on
Pop." 7-20-06: Mad's first art class. 7-24 to 8-4-06: Took a 10-day swimming course and learned how to swim freestyle, without taking breaths. |
| 4 years, 7 months | 10-26-07: Began taking Aikido classes. She really enjoys it! She earned her first "yellow stripe" on 2-15-07 and was so proud of it that she brought her belt to class the next day for share day. |
| 4 years, 10 months | 2-07-07: Began jazz/hip hop class. She loves wearing her jazz shoes. |
| 5 years, 2 months | 6-01-07: Began taekwondo classes! She earned her first two stripes on 6-19-07 for focusing and yelling. She enjoys class a lot. |
